These are conversations that we have with almost every new client during onboarding—and the answer is pretty much always YES: you need an FAQ section on your website.

Not only does it cut down the constant back-and-forth with potential clients, but it's also so important for your SEO, visibility, and overall user experience.

Let's talk about it.

Why your website needs an FAQ section

In case you need some convincing, here are some reasons why we highly recommend including an FAQ section on your website:

  1. Whether people reach out to you via phone, text, email, a contact form on your website or DMs—with an FAQ section you can eliminate a lot of the back-and-forth you have with potential clients and new customers. And you avoid having to repeatedly answer the same question.

    1. Also consider your audience—for them it removes the "ugh I have to send an email, book a call," etc.,

  2. An FAQ section is a way to pre-qualify leads before they ever reach out to you by answering common questions about things like pricing, payment options, the process of working with you, timelines, services, etc.,

  3. You increase your chances of having your website be discovered in search results—including places like ChatGPT, Google's AI Overview and Gemini, and other LLMs.

    1. LLMs are looking for highly reliable and "citeable" sources for their models. And they prioritize content that they can easily summarize because it makes it easier to copy information from your website and display it in an AI Snippet (like Google's AI Overview).

  4. You improve a person's experience while on your website by linking directly to other pages like services, products, or more in-depth answers (like a blog post).

  5. Most people hesitate on making a purchase when they feel unclear or confused—so by including an FAQ section, you provide clarity and therefore confidence for the visitor, and ultimately increase the chances of warming up a lead and making a sale.

  6. You make your brand more accessible for introverts and/or people who don't want to hop on a call just to get basic information. For a lot of people, reaching out already feels like a big step so an FAQ section lets them get answers privately, at their own pace, and without pressure (again, consider your audience).

Having an FAQ section on your website builds trust before a conversation ever happens; introverts love that. So do busy people. So does literally anyone who values transparency.

So, the point is—yes, your website needs an FAQ section 😉
